our School
On behalf of everyone at Langwith Bassett, I would like to welcome you to our Academy.
I am extremely proud to lead a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic team that is committed to children's well-being, achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care. We believe that every child matters and work hard to create an environment here that nurtures independence, resilience and a desire to learn.
Together, through a creative and varied curriculum, we strive to ensure that each child reaches their potential. All children have talents and abilities to celebrate, and our role is to prepare children for future education; and to help them acquire the skills and enthusiasm needed to embrace the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
Active Learners, Confident Communicators and Respectful Citizens
We believe in Active Learning where children are engaged and are able to actively take part and contribute by talking about, sharing and demonstrating their own learning. Our lessons are busy and purposeful with children encouraged to share their ideas confidently, securely and knowing that all ideas are welcomed and valued.
Communicating ideas with increasing confidence and vocabulary is critical in order that our children go on to develop independence, understanding and tolerance for other opinions and views.
Our Academy Ethos is one based on our core value of Respect and this underpins every aspect of our academy life. This is expected, modelled and demonstrated by every member of our academy community through our seven themes
RESPECT
Responsibility,
Enthusiasm,
Sense of Pride,
Perseverance,
Empathy,
Curiosity
Teamwork
If you would like to find out more about our academy then please call and arrange a visit. You would be made very welcome.

Staff have developed trusting relationships with pupils and their families. Pupils and parents say that school is a safe place. Pupils know that adults in school really care about them and look after them well.
Teachers use their good subject knowledge to explain new ideas to pupils clearly. They support pupils in lessons by modelling their high expectations and addressing pupils' misconceptions.
